Founded in 2001, the Mountain View Preservation Alliance is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to the city’s historic properties — educating owners and the public, and pushing for inventories and landmarks that still look like Mountain View.
In 2004 the city adopted a historic preservation ordinance and register. It was mild. It was also a start. The city is still rewriting that ordinance.
